Nanny blog

Hello folks!

I just wanted to pop in and say I've been posting on my nanny blog. Today I wrote about my style as a nanny and showed some outfits I'd love to wear. Feel free to check it out. I'll probolly be writing over there for a bit.

Smell ya later!

My friend, Jen and I met 5 years ago while working together. Our mutual weirdness just clicked. One of my favorite memories from working together is the time I answered the phone and said, "good evening," in a super creepy/ dark voice. She laughed so hard, which caused me to laugh while still on the phone. It was completely unprofessional but hilarious at the same time.

Recently Jen moved to California. She wanted a fresh start because she was tired of the same dead end drama. I didn't blame her, because a run of bad luck blows. Jen inquired about becoming a nanny and I encouraged her to do it. Soon after she signed up on a nanny website, she accepted a position watching five little girls (all under 6!).

I was happy for her. I knew this was the change she need- new state, new friends, and good money. I missed her though. It was hard not having my best pal right down the street. I know this must be how she felt about me jetting back to college after each break. Deep down, I know she chose the right option for her situation though.

Thursday thoughts

Today I thought it would be fun to join Life of Love in her link up, Thursday Thoughts. Here are mine:

#1. My mom, brother, and I went shopping last night. I purchased a pair of flats (seen above) for $23. I really like them but the practical side of me is having a little buyers remorse. What do you think? I already have a few occasions to wear them to... does that counts?

#2. I'm meeting up with my old friend, Nick M tomorrow. He spent all of 2011 traveling around the United States with his truck camper. I'm sure he has a lot of hilarious stories to share.

#3. The job search is still plugging along. Currently I'm waiting to see if I get a in person interview with a single mom in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Have you ever been there? I haven't but I've heard good things.

#4. Lately I've struggled with blogging (as I have two other blogs), and I think I've made the conclusion that my personal blog has to go. I've severely neglected in the the last year, which is why it makes sense to kick it to the curb. I'm a little sentimental about it though. I mean, I've had it since 2003! Sometimes it is fun to go back and reread some of those old memories that I've completely forgot about.

Reason #34343 why I need to win the lotto

In the next four months I have a few important events to attend. The first one will happen in March and I'd love your opinion on what dress to buy. I've chosen four ModCloth dresses that I love.

Unfortunately I can't give any details, but think of it as a fun dinner party. I will also say there will be lots of photos taken. What one do you love the most? Truthfully I just want to order all four : )

The Vow War

I rarely go to the movies, however in the coming month there are TWO movies I really want to see.

First up, The Vow with my girl Rachel McAdams.

I doubt it will top The Notebook but it still looks like a solid romantic movie. This one comes out on February 10th.

The second movie, This Means War.

I'm super excited that Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine both are in it. If you haven't seen Blind Dating yet you need to. He is totally swoon worthy. It hits theaters February 14th.

Are there any movies you really want to see? What's your favorite romantic comedy? I have to say Titanic wins hands down in my books. There are so many good choices though.

Ending with a bang

I think I changed my mind, instead of eloping, I want to have a New Years Eve wedding.

It would be a black tie affair. I'd wear a short little dress. This one is nice too*. Since I'm only 5 feet, short dresses fit me best. Although I could be persuaded to wear a long (possibly ballgown) dress for the vows, then change into a short dress at the reception.

The bridesmaids, would have more flexibility because I want them to look good too. I'm sure their dresses would involve some sort of sparkles, being NYE and all. As for the fit, it depends on what they want. As for the groomsman, they'd be wearing classic black tuxes.

Typically NYE weddings begin later in the evening. Therefore I'm not sure I'd do appetizers. As for dinner I'm thinking pasta, baked potato, and salad bars with steak/ chicken/ fish. Doesn't that sounds yummy? There is always the possibility of skipping dinner and serving appetizers all night. I doubt I'd do that though. I do think an open martini bar would be spot on though.

I love chocolate/ deserts, so I think I'd have a plethora of choices. Or maybe having a variety of cupcakes would be nice, light, and delirious.

Right before midnight I think bringing out a snack would be good. After all, I'm sure my guest will be tired from all the dancing. Having s'more fixings right before the big count down would be wonderful in my opinion.

I am sold on having a NYE wedding now : )

Just curious, how many bridesmaids/ groomsmen did you have? The magic number I have is 12 (6 of each).

* I feel like my ideal dress would be a mix of both those. I think. I couldn't find a picture of the idea I have in my head.
